So our Dirt Devil vacuum crapped out on us a few months ago (yes, I did not vacuum for that long...it disgusts me too) and finally I just could not handle the hair and dirt. I HAD to get a new vacuum. I did the research online before I left the house and determined to get a Bissell because they were decently priced and a lot of people seemed to like them. After visiting a few stores, I found this one which is marketed for people with  pets. As soon as the decision was made, I sent a text to my good friend Marie, informing her of my purchase and to check with Caleb to make sure my decision was a good one. He gave the OK today and said he would need to inspect it. Caleb is 3 years old.
